Types of Braces

metal braces

Traditional Metal Braces

Traditional metal braces are the most common type of braces and are more comfortable today than ever before. Made of high-grade stainless steel, metal braces straighten your teeth using metal brackets and archwires. With metal braces, you have the option of adding colored elastics (rubber bands) for a more unique and colorful smile.

clear braces

Clear (Ceramic) Braces

Ceramic braces are made of clear materials and are therefore less visible on your teeth than metal braces. For this reason, ceramic braces are a great option for patients who have cosmetic concerns showing metal. Colors can still be added to ceramic braces too, which have show to help the colors "stand out" more without the metal.

invisalign

Clear Aligners (Invisalign)

Clear aligners are a series of clear, removable acrylic trays (retainers) that straighten your teeth each time you change to the next one. It is a great option for patients who had previous orthodontic treatment and have had relapse as well as patients who do not want to straighten their teeth with braces. Since it is removable, you can eat and drink what you want while in treatment, plus brushing and flossing are less of a hassle. However, it requires full compliance in wearing the aligners 22 hours a day in order to see results. The aligners are comfortable and have no metal to cause mouth abrasions during treatment. Please see the section on Invisalign on our website.

lingual braces

Lingual "Behind the Teeth" Braces (Incognito)

Lingual braces are hidden behind the teeth and therefore are truly "invisible" when you smile. Lingual braces are 100% customized to match the shape of your teeth and the wires are robotically bent to move your teeth, all created uniquely for you. Lingual braces are a great option for anyone who wants to straighten their teeth without others knowing you have braces! People will notice the transformation of your smile and confidence, not the braces. Please see the Incognito Page on our website for more details.
